An accomplished environmental service and sustainability professional, Paul Ligon draws upon more than three decades of professional experience. Since 2012, he has served as senior vice president of business development and strategy at Casella Waste Systems, where he oversees organic growth strategies and key business units. Paul Ligon also serves on the board of directors of GreenerU.
Established in 2009, GreenerU works closely with educational institutions to find effective solutions to energy-efficiency and sustainability challenges in various campuses. Since its inception, GreenerU has partnered with over 50 educational institutions keen to take an active role in combating the negative effects of climate change. Using engineered solutions and behavioral change management, the organization helps schools strike a perfect balance between efficiency, cost, and comfort.
Campuses have numerous buildings such as classrooms, office spaces, living quarters, teaching laboratories, and athletic facilities, which presents challenges of lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
